Today's minute is all about messy offices, motorcades, and speech assist devices as we join Goose and Charlie at the Halls of Justice. Meanwhile, outside Bubba Zanetti gets ambushed by inquisitive children, which is probably the worst kind of ambush to be caught by.
Mad Max Minute 32 - The Scag don't rate!
Who knew that near-apocalyptic motorcycle gangs had so much internal drama, though it might just be Bubba Zanetti that gets bent out of shape about his fellow riders. We also bring up why we think the Night Rider's remains were sent to Wee Jerusalem, the idea of hierarchy within Toecutter's criminal enterprise, and the poor state of MFP Headquarters.
Mad Max Minute 31 - Well, well, well.
Max has an amazing poker face, johnny can't remember his gang's catch phrases, and that awful audio cue is back as Max and Goose put two and two together and realize that their new prisoner is an associate of the Night Rider. Elsewhere, Bubba Zanetti delivers the news that Johnny has "done it again."
Mad Max Minute 30 - Everything's gonna be alright
It's the end of week six as Max and Goose begin investigating the destroyed chevy. We start to unravel what happened here but also get to see the softer side of Goose as he carefully makes a connection with the young woman from the chevy.
Mad Max Minute 29 - Hey, fella, you're a turkey, you know that?
Is it really an insult when someone named Goose calls someone else a Turkey? This is just one of the many questions raised as Max and Goose see a pantsless Lair running out into a field. Despite Goose's jocular attitude, he and Max soon find themselves face to face with the aftermath of Toecutter's violent whim.
Mad Max Minute 28 - It's a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card
It's a mid-week break from focusing on the couple in the chevy as we fade over to Max and Goose during a traffic stop. We take this break in the action to distract ourselves with talk about geography, custom motorcycles, and how frustrating it is that the normally talkative dispatch suddenly has nothing to offer when Goose asks for more information. Mad Max Minute 27 - Yes Worries
The Acolytes descend on the chevy in a minute consumed by violence and mayhem. Amidst the chaos we talk about a deleted scene, whether this is all the fault of a milkshake, and try to crack the mystery of what kind of bird is seen as we fade into the next scene.
Mad Max Minute 26 - No worries
It's a tense start to the week as Toecutter rallies his lieutenants and they take off after the young couple in the chevy. Amidst all of this moving around we notice some parallels between this chase and the pursuit of the Nightrider at the beginning of the film and wonder if there's an extended cut of Hugh Keays-Byrne hitting a windshield with his ax.
Mad Max Minute 25 - Push me, shove you
Push me, shove you, oh yeah, says who? That is the big question that faces us at the end of week 5. Today's episode sees The Acolytes terrorizing a local and scaring away the young couple in the Chevy. Unfortunately for them, their flight draws the ire of the most dangerous outlaw on the road.
Mad Max Minute 24 - Take him away
As Toecutter sends his lieutenants away with the Station Master, we contemplate what he might be comtemplating, and probably give him too much credit. Back on the main street, the troops are restless which results in the gross mistreatment of a milkshake that sets events in motion that will forever alter the course of the entire Mad Max Series.Visit us at our Website: www.madmaxminute.com
As Mentioned in today's episode, here is the playlist of Howard Eynon's music on Youtube, presented by Earth Recordings
Mad Max Minute 23 - Remember him when you look at the night sky
There's always a point where humor is no longer appreciated, and the Station Master learns real quick that the Toecutter can go from zero to sixty faster than anything on the road. There's a lot of face touching in this minute, really intense face touching. Visit us at our Website: www.madmaxminute.com
Mad Max Minute 22 - We're here to meet a friend, come in on the train
The gang is spreading out as they start to get comfortable in their new surroundings, meanwhile, Bubba Zanetti and Starbuck close in on the Station Master, a world-weary man with nerves of steel. We've power moves, bad jokes, a pink elephant, and maybe a little too much conversation about what is left of the Nightrider.
Mad Max Minute 21 - Welcome to Clunes, Victoria
Today's minutes is all about the on-screen reveal of the Acolytes, especially the Toecutter. We also talk a bit about the motorcycles used in the film, as well as the behind the scenes documentary "The Madness of Max" included in the High Octane Collection.
Mad Max Minute 20 - Word is they're out to get you
It's taken us four weeks, but we've finally arrived at the moment when The Acolytes appear onscreen, but before we get to meet our deplorable gang of antagonists, we get introduced to the small Australian town where we'll be for the next several days.
Mad Max Minute 19 - The old meat grinder's humming tonight
It's not often that you see someone use a Kendo helmet for a mic drop, but we're pretty certain that Labatouche fell down the stairs and that's why we never see him again. Later that evening we follow Fifi as he tracks down Max at a pile-up on the highway.
Mad Max Minute 18 - Your top pursuit man wants to quit the road and we have to seduce him with candy?
While Max and Goose are going giddy over the Black on Black, Fifi and Labatouche are upstairs dropping exposition on us. We get rather shaken about the revelation that Max wants to quit the MFP, which was never mentioned before this minute, it's a topic so nice we discuss it twice!
Mad Max Minute 17 - She's the last of the V8's
Max and Goose head underground to meet up with Barry, the MFP's mechanic, and come face to face with the iconic, Black on black, the last of the V8's. We also talk about Goose riding with one leg, the neglected vehicles in the background of the garage, and the history of a Ford Falcon that became synonymous with the Mad Max series.
Mad Max Minute 16 - Crazy about you
Oi! We're back from the weekend and just crazy about this scene. Although it might be more accurate to say that Jessie's homemade sign language has us going a little crazy. Aside from that we talk a bit about the pumping station in Melbourne and figure out why eating an apple makes you look like an a-hole.
Mad Max Minute 15 - The Goose wants me there early.
We're capping off week three as Max is making his way out to head back to work. Meanwhile, Jessie is disappointed in how soon Max has to leave, Sprog is busy creating continuity errors, and Rick is surprisingly talkative when it comes to the subject of pants.
Mad Max Minute 14 - Just another glory roader, I guess
Oh my, is that a young Mel Gibson wearing only a bath towel? It is, what a shame it would be if we never bring up the fact that this is partially a nude scene. Spoiler alert: we never talk about Mel's abs, but we do spend a lot of time criticizing his choice of breakfast, so you can look forward to that.
