Waterworld: H2O Minutes - Episode 28 | "Wherever You're Going"

Deacon has Nord dispose of the Commerce Elder and gives the order for the Smoker seaplane to hunt down the Mariner. Meanwhile, the Mariner performs some repairs on his hull while Helen hopes to clarify her expectations regarding the arrangement that she has made with Him. It’s quickly apparent that things will not be how she expected.

Nord delivers the bad news to Deacon that Enola is nowhere to be found, but answers may yet be found from two captured Atollers. Deacon interrogates the Commerce Elder and learns that the Mariner has taken the girl and is also a mutant. This revelation gives Deacon an opportunity to wax theological to the Smokers surrounding him.

Despite the loss of their fuel barge, the Smokers are victorious over the Atoll and begin grabbing as many supplies as they can carry. While his cohorts are looting, Nord is on the hunt for Enola, hoping to find her either among the captives or the corpses. Meanwhile, Deacon arrives on the Atoll, bloodied but not beaten.

The gates are open! Helen and Enola drop onto the trimaran and the Mariner sails out into open water, but Deacon spots them and orders his smokers to stop the vessel. The Mariner thinks fast and harpoons the Hellfire Gunboat, dragging it off course and putting the smoker fuel barge in the direct line of fire.

Nord leads the Smokers into the Atoll, barking orders and nearly getting harpooned by the Mariner. Up on the gate, Helen and Enola are able to open one half of the gate, but a jet ski explosion knocks them off of a walkway. The Mariner leaps into action and, with Enola’s direction, gets the second half of the gate open.

Freed from the bog, the Mariner sends Helen and Enola to open the gate while he swims across the lagoon and begins freeing the trimaran, managing to take out a few smokers along the way. Hoping for a quick resolution to the battle, the Deacon deploys his kamikaze boat, blasting a hole in the side of the Atoll and allowing his smokers to pour into the opening.

Gregor’s airship begins floating away, and despite his best efforts Gregor is forced to leave Helen and Enola behind. With their escape plan drifting away on the breeze, Enola points to the Mariner in his sinking cage. Deacon tries to have Gregor shot out of the sky, but the order fails, meanwhile, Helen demands passage in exchange for the Mariner’s freedom.

Gregor pratfalls his way into prematurely inflating his dirigible airship putting a ticking clock on the escape he had planned for Him, Helen, and Enola. Outside, an errant smoker collides with the Mariner’s cage, toppling him into the bog. With more and more Smokers making their way into the Atoll, Helen and Enola run for Gregor’s tower.

The Hellfire Gunboat jams up, but jet skis, siege ladders, and a seaplane pulling smokers on water skis press the assault. The Atoll is able to return fire with its medieval weaponry, but the Smokers are a formidable foe. Meanwhile, the Mariner continues his struggle to free himself from his cage and Gregor rushes to prepare his airship for departure.

The Atollers scramble to collect weapons and take their positions on the walls, but the Smokers are faster, better equipped, and battle-hardened. The Mariner pleads to be released from his cage to help fight, but his cries fall on deaf ears. Meanwhile, the Deacon, leader of the Smokers, gives the command for his hellfire gunboat to open fire on the Atoll.

Helen and Enola join the crowd as the Atollers file their way onto the Organo Barge to hear the Elders pass judgment on The Mariner. Unsurprisingly, the sentence is death, but as the Enforcer begins lowering the cage into the bog, a lookout on a watchtower spies an armada of smokers heading straight for the Atoll.

Gregor tries to pry information about Dry Land from the Mariner, but his only concern is a mooring cleat that could prove useful in his escape. Despite Gregor’s apparent willingness to help, he is chased off by the Enforcer who catches him from a distance. The Mariner spends the rest of the night sulking in his cage as the sun rises on a new day.

Despite Helen’s urgency to leave the Atoll, Gregor is unwilling to leave until he is able to decipher Enola’s tattoo. Enola suggests Gregor speak to the Mariner and he does, finding the gilled stranger sulking in his hanging cage. Gregor can scarcely say two words before erupting in giggles over seeing someone with a mutation up close.

High in his windmill, the Atoll’s resident engineer, Gregor, believes he has made a breakthrough in deciphering Enola’s tattoo, but he quickly realizes that it’s just another wild theory. He curses the heavens, but Helen’s concerned expression speaks of a more terrestrial concern as it seems the other residents of the Atoll are preparing to do Enola harm.

Her assertions paint a metaphorical target on her back and with the encouragement of the Gatesman, the crowd turns against Helen.

The crowd is shown the various spy tools taken from the trimaran and the general consensus is that the mutant must be destroyed, but Helen has other ideas.

He’s tackled into the water and manages to kill his attacker, but He’s caught in a net and dragged into the grasp of the mob. The Enforcer arrives and takes custody of The Mariner, decrying mob rule and imprisoning him in a cage and seizing his goods.

The Atoll Elders stop the Mariner in his tracks and request that he impregnate a young woman. The Mariner’s refusal sparks conflict and the Gatesman makes a startling discovery.
